8:30 PM-11:30 PM Monday Night Jazz Jams

Accomplished Key West Pianist Larry Smith has taken up residency in the newest historic music venue in town, creating a Jazz Lounge at the William Weech American Legion at 803 Emma Street on Monday nights.  He honors the legacy of music at the William Weech post while continuing his long tradition of hosting open jams on Mondays, premiering on November 03, 2025, with bassist Joe Dallas and drummer Skipper Kripitz.  Smith’s jams are legendary - they enjoy a long history of jam alumni - from talented high schoolers - to grammy award winning star professionals from around the world.  Larry Smith’s jams are requisite for all touring musicians passing through Key West.  After sitting in and enjoying just one of Smith’s sessions, the guest musicians return year after year to recreate the free, artistic, joyous music.  The music for Larry's jams is never pre-determined as the set list is spontaneously arrived upon depending on the “feel” of the audience, the “mood" of the night, and the “fancy” of the musicians who are performing that night.  Aficionados of jazz from around the world have become loyal followers. For more information or to join the jam contact us on Facebook: legionpost168, and (305) 440-3714.

10:00 AM-4:30 PM Beaches, Creatures & Cowboys: Florida Movie Posters

In the early days of movie making, Florida sunshine lit the sets for many movies, while the palm trees and beaches provided a beautiful backdrop.  Movie producers have been making films in Florida almost since the dawn of the industry.  For a short time in the early twentieth century, Florida even rivaled California as a place for movie making.  However, a lack of government support, money, and studio facilities hurt the industry here, and movie companies soon began leaving the area.

10:30 AM-5:00 PM WILLIAMS HALL

For more than 100 years, the iconic church at the corner of William and Fleming Streets has been an important part of the spiritual and architectural landscape of Key West. During the 1940’s, it was a thriving religious and community center with more than 400 members.

The focus of Williams Hall is to provide an environment for spiritual exchange and services, life skills learning opportunities for young teens, social activities and classes for the age 50+ community and cultural programs for all ages. Through a variety of services, classes, lectures and meetings, Williams Hall can return the facility to its historic relevance in the community.
